Questions & Answers - How Do I Transfer Multiple Folders At Once ?

Answer: If you would like to transfer multiple folders at once using a TRF7160, TRF7170, TF7100HDPLUS, TRF2400 or TRF2460 you will need to connect your unit to your home network.  Then log into the unit via an FTP program from your computer. You will then be able to select multiple folders and transfer these to your computer.

What Is Time Shift ?

Everyone wishes to rewind time, good news now you can, well in TV land that is.  Timeshift should be set to "on" for 2 hours by default on your Topfield DVR if not you will need to enable it.

With timeshift on, whenever you view a channel the DVR is temporarily recording what you are viewing onto its internal hard drive.  If someone knocks at the door or you decide to make a sandwich, you can come back rewind button to watch what you have missed.

Alternatively you can press the PAUSE button and when you come back press the PLAY button to continue watching from where you left off.

Now let's say one of those pesky ads appeared during your timeshift space, what shall we do ? On your Topfield DVPR you can skip them using the  "jump button" , which is the yellow button.  This button can be programmed to jump from 10 to 3 minutes. If you go overboard you can then press the blue button on your remote to jump back 10 seconds, which will enable you to smoothly back back into the begining of the show again.

Back home from work you turn the PVR on and begin to watch a show you find interesting as times goes past. You wish you had setup a recording for it ? Now we like to give you a heads up on some technical terms you should be aware off when purchasing a DVR :

Single Digital Tuner DVR: Will only have the ability to record only one channel, while watching another channel.  The second channel you watch is a "sub channel" from the one you are recording.

For example if you are recording channel 7, you can then view as a second channel any sub channels which belong to channel 7 , like 7two or 7mate .

TPR2000 - Single Tuner DVR

Dual Digital Tuner DVR : A true Dual Tuner should have the ability to record two different channels at the same time . For example 7 and 9 at the same time.  Don't get fooled for DVRs that claim to be dual or twin tuners but can only record 1 channel at a time , and will only allow you to watch 2nd channel . These are techically known as 1.5 tuners.

Speaking of dual tuners you would have noticed that I have mentioned that a dual tuner should only have the ability to record two shows at once.  Well you will be glad to know that some Topield PVRs [TRF7160, TF7100HDPLUS, TRF7170, TRF2400, TRF2460] can record up to 4 channels at once.  They can record any combination of channels within two networks. For example you can record Ten Digital  , Eleven , 7MATE and 7TWO.
